Then the first game was played in Sydney new south wales in Australia. But the first game wasn't played in New Zealand until 1970. Rugby in North America never really cached on until 1927 where there was a university game.

Laws of rugby

Laws of rugby The laws of rugby are quite simple when you look at the game in a vague way, but the rules do go quite in depth as you look further into the game. The most basic rule of rugby is that you can only pass the ball backwards or flat. This means that if you pass the ball forward or drop the ball in a forward motion it is a scrum to the opposing team. The scrum The scrum occurs as I said before when the ball drops or is passed in a forward motion or when a maul is stoped for a period of time. A scrum is where the two opposing pack push against each other in sort of a diamond formation while the scrum half put the ball in and the two forwards at the front of the scrum have to contest for it. These two forwards are called hookers because they hook the ball with there foot back to their side of the scrum
